Additional Info: Recorded for our cover of the classic Travelogue album, which The Human League originally released in 1979. Released on Compact Disc on conzoom Records. The Deluxe Edition includes 3 Limited Edition CDs. Thursday 15th of October 2020. 1609 hours. I finished off V3 of Gordon's Gin this morning. I took the track in a new direction. The previous versions were pretty much clones of the original. Spoke to Doug from NYC for about 2 hours. We spoke about music and stuff going on in his life and mine. He introduced him to The Drums and I introduced him to The Men a decade ago. Then I spoke to Angus at 1533 hours for 30 minutes and started work on this track, hot on the heels of Gordon's Gin V3. 1807 Just finished V1 of WXJL. I think it's nearly there. Just need to record proper vocals and maybe fix the choruses. Tuesday 6th July, 2021. 1652 hours. I just finished recording the final vocals for the track. I had a STAR session with L3 SVHOP @ 1415 hours. I didn't go to Muay Thai today as I did my hip last week and it's still a little sore, so I should probably rest up a little more. I started V4 this morning at around 1030 hours. I pretty much reworked all the music, and then did the vocals. I stupidly thought the guide vocals would be OK, but quickly realised they were shit. So I sung them all from scratch. I finished recording the vocals at exactly 1412 hours, just before the STAR session. I have dinner with Louise tonight, at Trippy Tacos. The owners of that restaurant are clearly fans of Monkey. I'll meet Sharyn at 1730 to walk Jack, Roger and Fritz in the park. Hopefully the timing works out, so I can leave Exhibition Gardens and go directly to Gertrude Street and meet Louise at 7pm. So, this means I have finished all the main tracks for Travelogue. But having said that, there are still so many changes I want to make to some of the other tracks, especially Being Boiled. I feel like I should integrate the Travelogue Boys of Buddha horns into my new mix. I'll see how I go. I've worked on this album for over a year, and could probably work another year on it, endlessely tweaking. Time to let go soon I think. |
