Additional Info: Recorded for our cover of the classic Travelogue album, which The Human League originally released in 1979. Released on Compact Disc on conzoom Records. The Deluxe Edition includes 3 Limited Edition CDs. Artwork is based on the Letraset Pack which was used on cover artwork The Human League's debut single Being Boiled. Wednesday the 5th of August, 2020. 2230 hours I had my interview for HAHC yesterday. Find out on Friday. Oh please God, I hope I get it. I went for my COVID19 swab at 1630 hours today at SVHA. I'm asymptomatic, but the offer was there so I took it, because I had concerns about the faclity I worked at last week. I started this project at 1859 hours today, with the usual arrangement and tempo mapping. This one was a biut trickier because of the tempo change when it switches song, and I wanted a slow tempo change for my version, rather than the abrupt change in the original. I created an 8 bar tempo transition and manually brought the tempo down from 135 to 100.42 I started recording demo vocals for this track at 2211, and just laid down a basic guide track and some BVs and chants. Chris sent me a lovely photo of Jack from 2012. Hard to believe it was 8 years ago but you can see what a puppy face he has. He's been sitting on my lap the since I began this project today. Friday the 7th of August, 2020. I got the phone call at 1048 today informing me I had caught Coronavirus. Was a bit of a surprise to say the least! I really wasn't expecting that. But I'm compltely asymptomatic, so I'm glad I found out. I would hate to have passed it onto someone. Started work on V2 of this track at 1720 hours and finished the Nightclubbing bassline and arrangement. Plus I laid a guide vocal and did some BVs. The reference checks were done today, so I'm expecting a phone call with good news on Monday. Fingers remain crossed. Finished work on the song for the night and watched Snowpiercer (the new series) for about 20 minutes before losing interest. Watched some Deep Space Nine (the 4K restoration) and it looks amazing. then watched a classic whodunnit. Saturday the 8th of August, 2020. Sharyn took Jack for a walk this morning after getting herself tested for COVID. I spent the morning editing the Neon Nights show - it's a Giogio Moroder special. I started in the studio at 1330 hours and worked on V3 of the song. I finished off the Nightclubbing instrumentation and laid down some new lead vocals. Last night I watched Murder by Death on my Plex. So good. So many awesome one-liners which I can't wait to try out myself. After finishing work I think I'll watch Murder on the Orient Express. I actually don't mind being quarantined in the studio. I've never been more productive in my life. Sunday the 9th of August, 2020. 1618 hours. Watched Murder on the Orient Express this morning and then went to work in the studio. I recorded some Chant vocals for the Rock n roll component. Sharyn took Jack for the day as I think he's getting cabin fever while Melbourne is on lockdown. One walk a day isn't enough for him, or me. I'm on V4 of the track and think I've finished it. Been working in the studio for about 3 hours, and so might start work on the next track. Maybe The Touchables. I posted a snippet on social media. I should have done that for all the songs, but I get so focused on making the music that I forget to share the progress (apart from these notes!). Sharyn got her swab back, she is negative for Coronavirus. I'm so glad I didn't pass it on to her, or any of my friends. |
