Overdrive feat Ian Burden

Written by John von Ahlen

Verse 1
You shut the door, then let me in
We contradict everything
It's the way we live
This is our modern life

You comb your hair, then change your mind
I feel the frame, it's so sublime
And delectable
I just want to be free

Chorus
Dreaming all night
Blissful delight
Feel the magic
Never tragic

Feel the passion
It's the fashion!
Hold me so tight
Take me tonight

Verse 2
You feel the edge, and you take your time
You turn around and you're still inclined
To go Overdrive
Like a flash in the night

I've had enough, but I take some more
I think I know it and I'm never sure
If it's worth the time
You don't know what it's like

 Repeat Chorus

Middle 8
Find the things that you like
Take the time tonight do it right
Make it real the change in your life
Then your soul will be revealing

Find the things that you like
Take the time to find that you might
Make it real the change in your life
Then your soul will be revealing

Repeat Chorus

Additional Info:
Written on Thursday 28th of July 2016 between 1700 and 1817 hours, with 40 minutes to spare before Louise arrives to record vocals.
I often think of Stock/Aitken/Waterman and how they would write songs, while the artist waited in the Lounge for the song to be completed (see Kylie - I Should Be So Lucky).
I like the idea of being forced to write a song under a looming deadline (hmm, maybe not all the time ha!).
Obviously this is another last minute song, and the words just came from nowhere really.
However, as Louise pointed out, I think it was my subconscious telling me I am overworked and I need a holiday!
This song was debuted at the Parralox live performance in New York on August 8th, 2016.

Features Bass Guitar by Ian Burden (ex The Human League).
The Bass Guitar used on the track is an Ibanez via a Boss Compressor, the very same guitar Ian used on Mirror Man and (Keep Feeling) Fascination.
