My Life |
Written by Billy Joel |
Verse 1 Got a call from an old friend we used to be real close Said he couldn't go on the American way Closed the shop, sold the house, bought a ticket to the west coast Now he gives them a stand-up routine in L.A. Verse 2 I don't need you to worry for me 'cause I'm alright I don't want you to tell me it's time to come home I don't care what you say anymore this is my life Go ahead with your own life leave me alone Middle 8 I never said you had to offer me a second chance I never said I was a victim of circumstance I still belong Don't get me wrong And you can speak your mind But not on my time Verse 3 They will tell you you can't sleep alone in a strange place Then they'll tell you can't sleep with somebody else Ah but sooner or later you sleep in your own space Either way it's O.K. you wake up with yourself Verse 4 I don't need you to worry for me 'cause I'm alright I don't want you to tell me it's time to come home I don't care what you say anymore this is my life Go ahead with your own life leave me alone Middle 8 I never said you had to offer me a second chance I never said I was a victim of circumstance I still belong Don't get me wrong And you can speak your mind But not on my time Verse 5 I don't care what you say anymore this is my life Go ahead with your own life leave me alone |

Additional Info: Friday 11/09/2020 0605. It's Oren Amram's Birthday today. Mark was supposed to come over last night, but he never called. I started and finished the Being Boiled Parralox Remix, and then finished in the studio and watched You Shouold Leave, and the Giorgio Moroder remake of Metropolis. For some reason I got a second wind and went back into the studio and started V1 and V2 of My Life 227. I recorded all the verses in one take. Just a double track. I was totally in the zone. I'm all done and now I think I'll watch some Babylon 5. It's been a long day. Well, technically it's 0607 in the morning, but you know what I mean. |
