Additional Info: This song is based on “Moonchild” by King Crimson. The band lists the writers for the song in the liner notes as: “Williams, Goodwin, Williams, Fripp, Giles, Lake, McDonald, Sinfield,” the last five names being the members of King Crimson who wrote the song. Musically, it contains a similar guitar riff and a similar melody. The lyrics here refer to “moonshine,” and the King Crimson song is about a “moonchild,” a personified child of the moon. The song is called “M62 Song” because it was recorded while driving under a flyover of the M62 motorway in Northenden, a suburban area north of Manchester. |
