Be Careful What You Wish For

Written by John von Ahlen

Chorus
Be careful what you wish for, you will never ever know
Don't try to change a stranger, Just better to let 'em go.
So be careful what you wish for, They will never ever know
Don't try to change a stranger, you better let 'em go
Because all of the dreams you had
Can so quickly turn wrong and bad
You might believe in a better world
But you know that it's gonna hurt

Verse 1
The moment I met you, I knew it was right
We read all the same books, and listen to light
I'm stuck in the moment, I'm caught in the rain
I think that I like it, the pleasure and pain

Pre Chorus
We all need love, you understand, I know you can
But sometimes in life, there is no plan!

Repeat Chorus

Verse 2
You tell me your secrets, then I tell you mine
But something is wrong now, did we cross the line
The streets are all empty, for know that I know
That all I wanted, was someone to hold

Repeat Pre Chorus
Repeat Chorus

Middle 8
Sometimes in life you find someone who you know is the right one for you, but then you find out that things aren't quite what they seem.
All of a sudden your perfect world gets torn apart and your heart is broken in two.
But after all the pain and sadness you still find that you can't let go, even though you want to.

Additional Info :
This song was written on December the 17th 2008 after rehearsals for The Tenth Stage. The vocals were recorded much later on March the 7th 2009 by Amii. Editing took a few weeks due to the backlog of songs we had already recorded with Parralox. Sometimes a song gets written and produced on the same day and stays that way. Other times the song goes through many permutations before finally arriving at something that is close to acceptable. Amii's vocals are perfect as always.

This song was also used in the TV Series "Rosemary Street" Season 01 Episode 01. Click the icons above to listen to the song on YouTubeTV and the official Rosemary Street TV Series website.
