Parralox - All Over The World

All Over The World

Written by Jeff Lynne

1, 2, 3, 4

Verse 1
Everybody all around the world
Gotta tell you what I just heard
There's gonna be a party all over the world
I got a message on the radio
But where it came from, I don't really know
And I heard these voices calling all over the world

Chorus
All over the world
Everybody got the word
Everybody everywhere is gonna feel tonight
(Oh-oh-oh-oh, oh oh)

Verse 2
Everybody walkin' down the street
Everybody movin' to the beat
They're gonna get hot down in the U.S.A. (New York, Detroit, L.A.)
We're gonna take a trip across the sea
Everybody come along with me
We're gonna hit the night down in gay Paris (c'est la vie, aves vous cup of tea)

Chorus
All over the world
Everybody got the word
Everybody everywhere is gonna feel tonight
(Oh-oh-oh-oh, oh oh)

Middle 8
London, Hamburg, Paris, Rome
Rio, Hong Kong, Tokyo
L.A., New York, Amsterdam
Monte Carlo, Shard End and

Chorus
All over the world
Everybody got the word
Everybody everywhere is gonna feel tonight
(Oh-oh-oh-oh, oh oh)

Verse 3
Everybody all around the world (London, Hamburg, Paris, Rome)
Gotta tell you what I just heard (Rio, Hong Kong, Tokyo)
Everybody walkin' down the street (London, Hamburg, Paris, Rome)
I know a place where we all can meet (Rio, Hong Kong, Tokyo)
Everybody gonna have a good time
Everybody will shine 'til the daylight

Had the most amazing dream last night - I won't go into detail, but I was in love, and it was amazing.
I decided to start this track to see if I could actually sing it, as Jeff's vocal range is broad and sings in a higher register.
I had to drop the song by a few semtiones.
Have started recording guide vocals, so far so good. Serial Mom is playing in the background.
I heard from my broker and I am just about ready to put an offer on Exhibition street. fingers crossed!

I'm onto V2 and have had to drop the song by 2 more semitones, as the BGs are crazy and braoder than I realised.
I haven't really tackled the music yet, as I'm still deconstructing the actual harmonies.

I just checked in some lovely AirBNB guests who just arrived from France. I came back and fed Jack and was watching The Twilight Zone - To Serve Man.
I've been binging TTZ for the last few days and I got the urge to do some more BVs for this track.
It's now 0241 and I'll see how I go with Verse 3 harmonies.

0318 - Just re-recored the lower harmonies in the middle 8 section as I got a few of the notes wrong.
0320 - Now analysing the upper harmonies.
0335 - Just finished recording the upper M8 harmonies
0344 - Juist fininshed recording the triad harmonies for the Middle 8
0356 - realised I had mismatched the first lower harmonies, so now I am re-recording them again. I just printed V3 but I'm not really feeling it. I added in a Scritti Pollitti type drum, but it stil feels kinda too rocky

Chris and I just went to the premiere of Harry Haines movie (Jane Badler's son who sadlty passed away) which was hosted by Jane at Como in South Yarra. And can you believe I bumped into Costa and Justin at the Como! They were there to see another movie, so it was so awesome to see them both.
After the movie I came back to the studio and started the track, because Costa and I spoke on the phone earlier today about what was happening with Parralox, and I mentioned that we contacted People Disco Machine for a remix of the forthcoming song I did with Jane Badler (Tears of Faith), but PDM isn't taking on any new remixes. I also mentioned that Goodbye Berlin has been now scheduled for released AFTER Tears of Faith, and that I was also working on the tracks for Holiday '22. Cost asked me what was on there, and I said so far I've done Running Up That Hill, Rent, My Life and All Around the World. To my surprise (but not really) Costa LOVES that song (well the whole Xanadu album is brilliant). Anyway, Costa suggested contacting Fear of Tigers for a remix of the Jane Balder song, so I had a listen on Youtube for their latest remixes (couldn't find many). But one of their tracks inspired me so much that I literally re-worked this entire track. Actually it was really just the drums, and a new bassline, and then swapping out the acoustic guitar for an arpeggio (actually the Jupiter 8 patch that Duran Duran used for Save A Prayer). I'm printing V4 now and I think this is close to the final version.

Went to the gym this morning and then met Sharyn at QV afterward. While I was at the gym I was listening to the rough mixes of the Holiday '22 tracks and figuring out what needed fixing. I met Sharyn and she bought Sushi and picked up her mail. Then I took Fritz and Jack to the studio and was going to work on Malibu but thought that I really should finish this track. By this stage I knew that I had a lot of work to do. So this afternoon I finished recording all the backing vocals for the final verse (New York, London, Tokyo) and the missing BVs at the start of all the verses. Then I had to plug all the musical holes. The Middle 8 needed work and so did the verses.
Anyway, it's done and it sounding like Phil Spector had a baby with Ben Hur. So much for minimalism, but I guess this song is anything but.
1614. V5 versions are printing now.
