Parralox - Subculture

About

Parralox, an Australian electronic music band based in Melbourne, was formed in 2008 by John von Ahlen and within that same year released their debut album "Electricity", which took the Internet and pop blogosphere by storm.

Parralox - Subculture PARRALOX RELEASE THEIR NEW ALBUM 'SUBCULTURE' ON JANUARY 27, 2017

We present to you "Subculture" the 10th studio album by Parralox. Inspired by The Human League's seminal Dare! album, plus the cutting edge production of Giorgio Moroder, Subculture is an exploration of pure electropop.

Featuring Marcella Detroit (Shakespear's Sister), Ian Burden (The Human League), Louise Love, Johanna Gervin, Lillia, Peter Wilson and A7-H, this is by far the most ambitious Parralox recording to date and also the largest collection of vocalists on a Parralox studio album. The album has been divided into 2 halves, Red and Blue.

Sonically the sound travels between the 80s and 90s, with an infusion of modern production techniques. This album introduces some new sonic flavours (ala Heaven 17) with instruments such as Trumpet, Electric Guitar, Bass Guitar and Theremin added to the mix.

Subculture peaked at #8 on the German Electronic Web Charts in January / February 2017, and has been positively reviewed on numerous blogs around the world.

Electric Nights feat Johanna Gervin is due for release as a single later in 2017 and has been remixed by Pete Hammond (Stock/Aitken/Waterman).
