Parralox, an Australian electronic music band based in Melbourne, was formed in 2008 by John von Ahlen and within that same year released their debut album "Electricity", which took the Internet and pop blogosphere by storm.
John's passion and commitment to electronic music is un-paralleled and his knowledge of all technologies associated with the genre is seriously impressive. A mix of '80's dance pop and modern EDM/electronic styles by the likes of Stuart Price, Trevor Horn and Goldfrapp influences Parralox's unique sound. Parralox embraces difference and has a love for all things science fiction, synthetic and surreal.
Electronic-pop group Parralox have released their new single "Crying on the Dancefloor". The single is the follow up to their "Recovery" album that garnered numerous positive reviews, most notably for their singles "Eye in the Sky" and "Silent Morning". Celebrity blogger, Perez Hilton has also just featured the band on his new his compilation album, "Pop Up! #4", which includes Parralox's single, "Eye in the Sky".
"Crying On The Dancefloor" is truly a collaboration between the band, with producer/frontman John von Ahlen, the talented and edgy new vocalist Johanna Gervin and lead vocals by striking new chanteuse, Francine; an emerging singer/songwriter from London who has supported Loreen, Stooshe and Alphabeat on tour.
The lyric video for "Crying on the Dancefloor" is fast-paced and visually dynamic spectacle, which draws inspiration from 80's electronica culture. The lyrics pop up, in, and out with the beat of the music and the tone of the song is complimented by the vibrant animated imagery. The lyric video is a pastiche of famous record cover artwork, redesigned and animated by John von Ahlen in a style that is truly unique to Parralox.
Coinciding with the release of the official music video, "Crying On The Dancefloor" will also have a special remix EP, which contains numerous established electronic producers including 7th Heaven, Supasound, Naked Highway, Will Alonso, Your Silent Face and more.
Following up the remix EP later in the year will be the release of Parralox's new album, "Subculture", which serves as the next step for Parralox marking a new sound reminiscent of The Human League meets C+C Music Factory.
Managed by EQ Music, Parralox has a lot more in store for us in the future, but for now be sure to check out their Official & Lyric video for "Crying on the Dancefloor" on YouTube & VEVO.
